Who became the greatest gourmand on the New Year’s cooking episode of ‘Running Man’?

The cast and guests of “Running Man” held a New Year”s special cook-off competition to determine the true Iron Chef in their midst!

Continuing from last week”s ingredient-gathering episode, this week”s broadcast saw the teams gather at a specially-built kitchen reminiscent of cooking competition shows to prepare their main dish.

Song Ji Hyo and Lee Dong Wook tried their hands at a crab-centered feast, while INFINITE“s Sunggyu and HaHa attempted to recreate Jeonju”s famous mixed rice. Rainbow“s Jaekyung and Gary went for the meat as well as incorporating the famous pears from their region, while Yoo Jae Suk and Park Soo Hong used the main ingredient of fish. Lee Kwang Soo and John Park had a tough time making noodles from scratch, and Ji Suk Jin and Kim Kyung Ho took their inspiration from the sea.

Finally, Kim Jong Kook and model Song Kyung Ah derived their menu from a health-inspired selection, opting for a herbal chicken soup.

Although three couples – the Kim Jong Kook-Song Kyung Ah team, the Gary-Jaekyung team and the Yoo Jae Suk-Park Soo Hong team – were on the short list for the win, the final victory was handed to Kim Jong Kook and Song Kyung Ah for their perfectly seasoned chicken soup.

The rest of the cast members praised them for their teamwork, prompting Yoo Jae Suk to yell, “It”s over, Yoon Eun Hye!”

Leessang’s Gary vs Running Man Gary vs Solo Mr. Gae

Gary”s first ever solo album is introducing a whole new side of Gary to his fans. Just as his stage persona as a member of Leessang is different from his comical persona on SBS”s “Running Man”, fans are anticipating this new-look Gary to introduce music that is unique to himself as well.
As a member of Leessang, Gary is charismatic and powerful. He commands the stage and awes viewers and on-lookers with his skill. His identity as a hip hop artist is accentuated on stage.

As a member of SBS”s “Running Man”, Gary is much more personable. He often forms a tandem with Song Ji Hyo, another member of “Running Man”, and the two are often called the “Monday Couple”. He has many fans in China and the pacific countries thanks to his appearance on the show.
Gary”s solo album, Mr. Gae, was released on January 15th. The album cover shows a different Gary, who is clad in a leather jacket and smoking a cigarette. He looks chic and sexy, two adjectives never attributed to Gary before.

He released his teaser image for his title song, “Drunken Night Tune”. Lyrics such as “I”m gonna be a dog (“Gae” in Korean), drunken to a stupor” is drawing the interest of his fans. Gary revealed that his title song, “Drunken Night Tune” was the hardest song that he ever worked on. This solo album will be a first look into the artist Gary”s mind.

His second title song, “Shower Later” has been labeled “Inappropriate for Under 19″. It was deemed too revealing and sexy, but it”s working to Gary”s advantage. Fans are getting more and more curious about the song and its music video for which a teaser was released on January 14th. The song will push the boundaries of people”s perception of Gary as an artist.

One thing is certain – whether he is on the stage with Gil as the duo Leessang, running around in the entertainment show “Running Man”, or performing solo, Gary”s multifaceted charm is bound to shine through.

'Running Man' Lee Kwang Soo And Kim Jong Kook Are High School BFF

Actor Lee Kwang Soo and singer Kim Jong Kook transformed into school girls! On January 13, Lee Kwang Soo uploaded a photograph of Kim Jong Kook and himself on his Twitter account. The photograph had one sentence: “Our friendship is forever.” The revealed photograph looks as if it was related to the filming of their SBS variety program “Running Man.” Yesterday, the preview for next week’s episode came out which showed Kim Jong Kook in the same outfit as Lee Kwang Soo’s picture, which you can view here.

In the photograph, Lee Kwang Soo looks adorable with his pigtails and Kim Jong Kook wears a cute knitted hat. They also wear the trademark Korean high school girls’ coats which are called “tteokbokki coat.” Tteokbokki is a Korean snack dish which is made of rice cakes, vegetables, fish cakes, and spicy red pepper sauce.  In Korea, tteokbokki is known to be a very popular cheap snack for students to eat before their afterschool activities.

Netizens are enjoying Lee Kwang Soo and Kim Jong Kook’s cheesy and shocking transformation as school girls. They commented “If there were school girls like them, it would be horrifying” and “Even though, they are school girls, they scare me.”

Model Song Kyung Ah Says 'Running Man' Kim Jong Kook Talks Too Much

Model Song Kyung Ah revealed her discontent with Kim Jong Kook talking too much and being timid.
The model appeared on the January 12 episode of SBS’s “Running Man,” and said, “I didn’t know that Kim Jong Kook had so much doubt or was so timid. His physique is huge, but he talks so much.” She said, “Eventually, responding, ‘Yes, yes..’ (I exploded),” making everyone laugh.
However, it seems Kim Jong Kook thought otherwise. He said, “Our opinions in terms of cooking were pretty similar. And since she cooks a lot better than I do, I tried to not say so much,” seeming satisfied.
At this Song Kyung Ah joked, “There is no need to call it chemistry. I did everything.”

Running Man's Lee Kwang Soo Rides The K-Entertainment Wave in His Solo Gig in Kuala Lumpur!

He started his career on the runway before appearing on the television series and expanding his wings to silver screen. However, this lanky lad rose to fame but for his ‘betraying character’ until he was named the ‘framing master ‘in the widely popular variety show, Running Man. After a successful first overseas fan meeting in Singapore last summer, he made a stopover in Kuala Lumpur last Saturday for his ‘Lee Kwang Soo: Fan Meeting in Malaysia 2014′ which coincide with Visit Malaysia Year 2014.
With an attendance of almost 3000 enthusiastic fans, the man of the hour, the handsomely dressed Lee Kwangsoo in dark blue outfit appeared at the centre stage and starting of his own ‘showcase’ serenading the fans with Hug by TVXQ. As if the crowds cheered were not enough as he made his appearance on the stage; when he was on the microphone singing Hug, the cheering levels definitely shoot up to the maximum since this was the first time the fans witnessed him singing. Soon after, he greeted the fans, Hello Malaysia. The ‘singer’ Kwangsoo also serenades the audience with Because of Love by Yoo Jae Ha, and while singing, he beautifully showcasing his ‘never seen before’ talents playing the keyboard and organ.

Differed from his character on TV, Lee Kwangsoo definitely knows how to treat his fans like gems and crystals. This fan meeting amazingly filled with interactive games specially prepared by him in order to get closer to his fans. During the first game session, Follow the Lee Kwangsoo Way, he invited 4 lucky fans on the stage and they were required to imitate his actions i.e ‘tough’, ‘fashionista’, ‘romantic’ and ‘aegyo’.  It looks like Lee Kwangsoo wanted to bring the fans to an acting ‘casting’ or ‘audition’ during this game. For acting ‘tough’, he requested the fan to imitate a soldier fully equipped with a gun (toy gun of course) while ‘fashionista’, the fan were asked to walk in a runway; well, this was the best time for them to imagine themselves at Paris Fashion Week ain’t it? Up next was ‘romantic’ acting. During this session, the audience burst into laughter because the fan who was imitating him was clueless of the kind of romantic acting he was portraying.  He was supposedly acted as a romantic guy trying to feed the girlfriend, but he ended up feeding himself.  However, he ended up his acting beautifully with ‘proposing act’ while bending on his knee and presenting the lucky girl with a rose. You might saw him being wild and bold on Running Man but today, Lee Kwangsoo was definitely a shy guy especially when the fan imitated his ‘aegyo’, his cheek turned rosy pink and he acted all shy towards the whole ‘aegyo’ theme.

Going on to the next excitement game, he invited more fans on stage and during this game, he choose 4 different poses and while the fans need to remember it, they were asked to look on the other direction and on the count of 1,2,3, they must pose exactly as Kwangsoo’s.  A lucky young fanboy became the ultimate winner and brought home an autographed LINE fan, a bouquet of roses and of course a big hug from Kwangsoo.

Next was the trivia game and all the audiences on the floor could participate. It’s a TRUE or FALSE game which tested the fans knowledge about Lee Kwangsoo whereby the questions include his height, weight, shoe size, his favourite food & drinks etc. The winners walked home with an autographed shirt which he signed on the spot at the back of each winner. The smile on his face explained everything; his happiness and grateful feeling towards the fans who knew a lot about him.

On this first visit to Malaysia, he felt very grateful and touched with the warm welcomed that he received since the moment he stepped his foot on the Kuala Lumpur soil. When he was asked what he likes the most being part of Running Man, he answered that the show not only gave him fame but also the new family (the members) and they were meant a lot to him. He also promised the fans that he will tell the other Running Man casts about Malaysian fans and his amazing experience here. He was also asked about his ideal girl. To all the girls out there who were slightly shorter than Kwangsoo but possessed a warm smile, do contact this Mr Lee.  When asked about his ‘Asia Prince’ image by his fans, first of all he truly thanked for being given this title and he promised the fans that he will lifted up to this name and will show a more amazing character and funny side of him (because he admitted that he was a shy guy) and will work harder in the future.  From a shy guy to a ‘gag’man, from a master of betrayer to Asia Prince, he has everything that a guy could dream of. So…what kind of role he wanted to have next? Spontaneously he answered, a PLAYBOY!

He ended the fan meeting with another song, I Believe by Shin Seung Hun and last but not least, as a token of appreciation, the Malaysian fans gave the most memorable gift that Mr Asia Prince could ever receive; a fan made short clips of Kwangsoo and while the clips were played, Kwangsoo can’t hide his tears as he was so touched by the fans efforts. Kwangsoo himself gave a high-five session and autograph poster to all the premium ticket holders.  What else can we say about Lee Kwangsoo,… he is truly an aweosme entertainer!

Running Mans Monday Couple faces temptations: will Gary and Jihyo stay strong?

On 5th January’s broadcast of SBS Running Man, Running Man members were paired up with guests, ran around and went to different parts of South Korea. Their mission was to meet with the best chefs to learn their secret recipes and also to search for fresh ingredients, in order to prepare for a special ’2014 New Year’s First Dinner’ for 2014′s first weekend.
Unfortunately, the Monday couple that everyone loves were split up for this episode! Song Jihyo was paired up with Lee Dong Wook, while Gary was paired up with Rainbow’s Jaekyung.
During the show, Gary and Song Jihyo had a conversation on the phone. Gary straightforwardly asked Jihyo, “Right now, you are the one in my heart. Are you jealous that my partner is female?” Song Jihyo replied, “Of course I am jealous. So where are you, Kang Gary? My partner is very handsome. He’s also a guy who understands me, just like you.” Gary then replied, “So besides me, there’s a guy who understands you? Last week did you go the club again?” (Fans of Monday couple, are you having goosebumps right now?)
Song Jihyo and Lee Dong Wook worked as colleagues for the KBS2TV drama The Fugitive of Joseon, as a royal nurse and a royal physician respectively, so the two of them played along with each other very naturally on Running Man. While Song Jihyo indeed seems to be having a good time with good friend Lee Dong Wook, it was still a very sweet conversation between Gary and Jihyo on the phone.

Siwan stared in the movie “The Attorney” and it already exceeded 8 million viewers. Do Hee is currently receiving much love and popularity through her character in “Reply 1994″.

Running Man: Kim Sunggyu holds impromptu fanmeeting at Jeonju

On 5th January’s broadcast of SBS Running Man, INFINITE’s Kim Sunggyu appeared as a guest on the show. In the show, HaHa and Sunggyu were paired up in a team. For their mission, they went to Jeonju, which is coincidentally Sunggyu’s hometown!
For this New Year’s episode, Running Man members ran around and went to different parts of South Korea to find ingredients to prepare for a special ’2014 New Year’s First Dinner’. The teams’ mission was to meet with the best chefs to learn their secret recipes and also to search for fresh ingredients.
After HaHa and Sunggyu finished carrying out their mission in Jeonju, Sunggyu used the remaining time for a Fanmeeting! In front of the Jeonju residents, HaHa shouted out “This is Jeonju’s son Kim Sunggyu!”, and there was also time for a free hug session! However, there was not a lot of people around at that time, which made Sunggyu start feeling rather embarrassed. Afterwards, some young female fans recognized Sunggyu and gathered around, so HaHa suggested for everyone to hold hands and do the circle dance. The happy fans did as they were told and danced around in a circle, with everyone laughing merrily. (INSPIRITS, how you wish you were in Jeonju right?)
The other couple pairings for the episode included: Yoo Jaesuk + Park Soo Hong, Song Jihyo + Lee Dong Wook, Ji Sukjin + Kim Kyung Ho, Lee Kwangsoo + John Park, Kim Jongkook + Song Kyung Ah, Gary + Rainbow’s Jaekyung.
